Wii Motion Plus

So I’ve bought Wii Motion Plus and Sports Resort, and here’s what I think…Rather Good!
Wii Sports Resort?

Since I’m a fan of Wii Bowling, I tried that first. “‘mmmm” I said to myself, with tht strange feeling you’re about to be really disappointed and duped.  I couldn’t really see the difference, apart from my Mii sporting a funky shirt.

Next stop sword fighting – oops I mean sword play – this seemed better, though I’ve no similar games to compare it to.  Sometimes it felt like random swiping about did as well as a more considered approach.  That said, the rapid swiping at fruit in ‘Speed Slicing’ against another human player is great fun.

Archery – I like it, and having to draw does almost fool the brain into applying the amount of force you would with a real bow and arrow.  A fun addition to the resort.

Table Tennis – now we’re talking – this is brilliant.  You clearly see the benefit of Wii motion plus add-on.  You can put proper spin on the ball and if you swipe at the ball backhand, you Mii does a backhand!  The control is far better than the old Wii Sports tennis, but sadly only one & two player options.  Still it’s proved addictive though.

Frisbee is good, as you can actually throw with angle and pitch just like a real Frisbee.  You throw the Frisbee and a wee pet dog runs off to fetch it for you – oh and score bonus points if he catches it mid air!  Frisbee Golf, great idea and even appeals to those not in to golf.

The other games are OK so far, but at the movement are shadowed by the above for my household – that may change in due course, however….
