The main problem is GPS - that's what eats the battery most.

It's not a good idea to read white text on black background to save the battery. The LCD screen is always lit from behind, and the liquid chrystal moleculas require electricity to twist and block the light from passing through. Therefore, black actually drains the battery _quicker_ then white.

But, anyway, the main source of power drain is the LCD screen backlight, which is, as I mentioned earlier, always on anyway (when the phone is active, that is). Thus, reading white on black is just a bit more power-consuming than reading black on white, and the difference is really small.

I like the phone but the battery is WAY shorter than I expect. I just fully charged it at 9am. Ride bike to work with navigation on (set to turn off display and hear on headphone) for 30 min. Battery still full. Used the phone to read ebook with mobipocket (total maybe 3 hours) set with black screen and white text to reduce power use. Didn't make any calls or text. It turned off due to no battery by 4.30pm. Not even 8 hours! Didn't expect that so didn't bring my charger.

I could read on my PDA for 6 hours straight - and that's an old PDA with lousy battery.

I also had some problems with the backlight turning off intermittently while texting, using the menu, or the map. Must be a bug.

For such an expensive phone (MYR1499 or USD412), I am not impressed. Or maybe the seller ripped me off 'cause as much as I like the phone, I think it's only worth USD 250+.

Nice accurate review, especially about the dust getting behind the front screen. Mine now has lots of dust and a speck of tobacco. There must be a serious gap behind the rather cheap feeling keypad.

And lol at the timer on the photo, found this out the other day, ended up having to prop it up with some objects nearby. Not being able to rest the camera is a schoolboy error.

I must admit, I am often confused at handset makers like Nokia. They jam in loads of excellent features, but then make the handset poor. I just cant believe that the nokia executives dont know about this !!!! Must be money-related reasons behind these decisions ?

Surely for example in the case of this phone, 6220 classic, wouldnt a executive at least sample the phone before release ? And when he or she did, are they so stupid to not notice the bad keypad, the cheap camera cover? If I was boss, I'd say "cool phone, improve the keypad and crap camera cover, and this phone will be the best phone of 2008" - I didnt mention software issues, as they could be done through updates :)

Anyways, sorry for the waffle, catch you later.
